Maximizing Access to Research Careers (MARC) Program ScholarThe LSU Maximizing Access to Research Careers (MARC) Program caters to assisting students from ethnic, disadvantaged, and socioeconomic backgrounds for their future research and career endeavors. As a MARC Program Scholar and undergraduate researcher at LSU, I had the esteemed opportunity to learn the fundamentals of and perform extensive research. As a Scholar, I was able to obtain funding for the research that I study and conferences that I attend. LSU MARC is supported by the National Institute of General Medical Sciences of the National Institutes of Health under award number T34GM136452. This Program allowed me to gain ample skills that will make me a stronger medical school applicant and successful future physician.
